Work is now progressing at pace for the opening of the art programme at the London Wetland Centre, which has now been renamed Wetlands Unravelled.
Anne Deeming, the artist that the Greater London Area Arts Society is supporting, will be showing her work Whether It changes anything. Weather— it changes everything
Over the past months Anne has been developing her ideas and making models of the final works. She plans to make 5 sculptural pieces which will be installed in the water and on the land on the west route of the site. Visually the sculptures will take their language from a number of sources – man made buildings, boats, hides, water buoys to create a range of objects that look vaguely familiar and recognisable, but aren’t. She is currently developing these forms further and working with the thermochromatic and hydrochromatic finishes with which they will be painted.
Unravelled Art have been working on the programme of events for the project, which will include talks, performances, sound workshops and stitching drop-in events. These will be published very soon on the WWT website, along with dates of the launch.
